Details
This 1965 Pontiac GTO convertible is powered by a 389ci V8 equipped with tri-power induction and backed by a four-speed manual transmission and a Safe-T-Track limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a power-operated white soft top, a hood scoop, a center console, a Hurst shifter, a push-button AM radio, Rally wheels, and power steering.
The car left the factory finished in Montero Red (R), and the body has been mounted to a rotisserie and repaired before being repainted during the refurbishment. Exterior details include a power-operated white soft top, a hood scoop, white pinstriping, backup lights, and GTO badging.
Steel Rally wheels wear chrome hubcaps and trim rings and are mounted with reproduction Firestone Deluxe Champion redline tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by unassisted drums.
The 389ci V8 is fitted with three Rochester two-barrel carburetors and was factory rated at 360 horsepower. The dual exhaust system flows into splitters with twin beveled outlets that exit behind the rear wheels. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Safe-T-Track limited-slip differential with 3.90:1 gearing.
